This festival is officially supported by the Japanese government and is an international festival organized by NPO groups “Living together with our earth” and “Institute of Mt. Fuji for everyone”. The Japanese word “WA (和)” symbolizes harmony, peace, and conformity and also “WA (輪 and環) “ has the meaning of loop, round and ring. The concept of this festival is praying for world peace as well as joining together hand-in-hand to secure happy and bright future for the children all around the world.
We do hope that you will be able to spare the time to share this occasion with us for world peace transcending countries, religion and race.

　

　Japan is a country that has flourished around rice farming culture and a role of rice farming in paddy is important for environmental conservation in global scale.
In addition, “rice” has power to foster huge population comparing to other farm products. The purpose of this festival is to leave spirituality of “living together” underlying rice farming culture to children both in Japan and in the world. And it is also to play a large role of environmental conservation and world peace and of making circle ( “WA” ) of international collaboration wider and of saving food crisis anticipated to be happened in 21st century collaborating together with ambassadors, diplomats, their families and volunteer.

　This festival has started under the collaboration by adults who were impressed with the wish “hoping to live together with children in the world” studying traditional way of living in Japan and its spirit. Ancient Japanese people cherished children by family and neighborhood and lived together with the earth without any trouble and children were grown up looking at their grandfather and parents’ back. We kindly ask for your cooperation to extend this “WA” (harmony, circle and ring) to the world by writing your message in the board which will be filled with messages by 100,000 people who agree with our wish in front of Mt. Fuji.

　This festival aims to spread Japanese science and agricultural technology to the world not just town revitalization holding the contest of craftsmanship and the free market “Rakuichi Rakuza”. And its purpose is contribution to society like activation of economy and development of industry and to offer a place where we will introduce product from town and cities around Mt. Fuji to the world. Also we would like to hand down to the children that Japanese has unique world level technology through this festival. Mt. Fuji is a symbol of Japan but there are about 390 “Mt. Fuji in our town” in many prefectures all around Japan and also there are “local Mt. Fuji” in 24 counties in the world. FUJISAN CHIDAMA FESTA 2014 was held in Yamanashi and the one in 2015 will also be held in Yamanashi but the one in 2016 will be held in Shizuoka. This festival will continue to be held in many prefectures so we ask for your agreement with our purport and for your acceptance of appointment as incorporator and for your cooperation to announce participation of your friends to this festival.
